Unique Boudoir Session

Definitely a unique Boudoir session...Ania wanted to surprise her boyfriend for his birthday with some sexy shots of her on his sexy red bike! Through some serious planning and a little sneaking around (well done Ania), she was able to get his bike to the location for the session and then surprise him with a couple of large prints along with a custom designed album. What a wonderful gift.

Leonard and Suzanne's engagement session

I had a wonderful session last Friday with Suzanne and Leonard. It was our first time meeting since they live in Portland and we had a great time getting to know each other a bit. Their wedding is coming up in September so it was so nice to have the chance to spend some time with them during their engagement session. Suzanne and Leonard decided on a beautiful location for their pictures...San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park. What a gorgeous, peaceful setting. Can't wait to see you both in September for your big day!

Congratulations to my beautiful sister Lizzy and her boyfriend David, now fiance! I'm so excited for them both...no doubt, true soul mates. They are moving from Buffalo New York to the Bay Area this August and I couldn't be happier. I'm so excited! I was just going back looking through some old photos I had taken of each of them separately and put this piece together. I love it! Can't wait to do their engagement session...

Children's FAIRYLAND!

I had so much fun today photographing Cameron James Murphy! The little guy sure had me running... but I was prepared and wore my running shoes this year. He's gotten even faster than I remember him being last summer.

Cameron will be turning 4 at the end of this month so for his annual portraits, we chose the location of Children's Fairyland which was so colorful and vibrant.

I had a blast with you guys today, thank you Donald and Calina. You are all so full of love and life! Can't wait for you to see the final collection of images from todays session.

Erin and Andrew

On Saturday May 9th, 2009, I photographed Erin and Andrew's wedding at Christ's Church in Sausalito. The reception was across the street at Campbell Hall and Garden which was really lovely and the catering by Cater Marin. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I just loved the red doors of the quaint little church, wow! The best part of the day though was witnessing the love that Erin and Andy share. The way they looked at each other and interacted was so beautiful and real...true love! Congratulations, I'm so happy for you both!

Golden Gate School

I just came home from another wonderful experience at Golden Gate School of Photography. Andre Constantini's Lighting class was so amazing! He is brilliant... and has a great sense of humor. I learned so much more about Light and can't wait to use some of the new skills and techniques I've walked away with. Although I didn't photograph too much during the 3 day seminar, I did have a chance to get a pretty cool image when we were in the beautiful Ralston Hall Mansion. What an amazing location for a wedding...wow! I just love the lines, textures and mood of this image.

Ai and Lee's Wedding at the S.F. Zoo

Ai and Lee renewed their vows at an unusual and unique location last Saturday...the San Francisco Zoo. The joining of their two families and their different cultures was wonderful to witness and to document. The day was full of so much joy and love! Due to the rain, the ceremony took place in the Giraffe House rather than outdoors in the African Savannah. Their awesome event planner, Leslie Campbell, from Let's Celebrate was able to coordinate a quick change in the location. Luckily the weather cleared up for everyone to enjoy the "animal encounter" and cocktail hour by the carousel. Congratulations Ai and Lee!

I entered my second print into competition tonight at the PPGBA meeting and am happy to say I won a gold ribbon! This is one of my favorite wedding images. The best part about it is that photographer Robert Farber, tonight's speaker, was one of the judges. His amazing work and his presentation were so inspiring. Tomorrow I'll be heading down to Carmel to photograph a wedding at the Carmel Mission. I can't wait to shoot!

Friday at the SF zoo...

I spent Friday afternoon with my wonderful friend and mentor, Kim. She loves the zoo and I had not yet been in SF. We of course took our cameras and had a blast photographing the amazing creatures. It was so much fun. We decided that we'd photograph each other before we left. My favorite image of the day is this one of Kim surrounded by the beautiful golden flowers!

Competition Print

Thursday night was the monthly PPGBA (Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area) meeting which I attended for the first time in several months. I entered my first print for competition, titled "Love Notes" and am proud to say I won a gold ribbon! Yay! Although I captured this image during the getting ready portion of a wedding, it was a better fit in the Environmental Portraits category. Thank you judges!

I just got back from Denver and had a wonderful time with my family, as always! I'm so lucky to be so close with my mother, father and sisters. I will be posting more images of each of them but wanted to share a couple favorites of my sister Lizzy at the Denver train station. The location was amazing and of course I always love photographing one of my favorite models...thanks Lizzy, you are so beautiful! I miss you already.

Wow, 2 Blog posts in one day...unbelievable. Now that I'm just about finished with my website project, I'll have time to start blogging more. Back in January, I took a little weekend trip to Denver to visit my Mom, my older sister and her family. I can't believe my little nephew Sean just turned 4 years old and my other nephew and Godson, Brendan is just about to turn 2. It is hard to put into words the love I have for those boys...I truly love being an Aunt. I'll be back in Denver again in a few weeks and can't wait to wrap my arms around them!

Cole and Shane

On August 9th, 2008, I photographed a truly amazing wedding…the wedding of Cole and Shane. When I first met Cole several months ago, we clicked and I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of documenting their day. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Silverado Resort in the Napa Valley which was a phenomenal place to work. It was such a gorgeous setting and perfect day…but most of all, it was the love between Cole and Shane that was such a pleasure to witness.

I so enjoyed being in their company and photographing the love they shared with each other and with all of their wonderful friends and family. From what I understand, every detail of the wedding came from Cole’s planning and creativity and what an amazing job she did. The flowers, the colors, the place cards, the music…all truly elegant. The gorgeous flowers were all done by Marian Lebrun from Savage Rose Florals. Wow!

Thank you, Cole and Shane, for allowing me to be a part of your day, it was such a joy! I wish you nothing but peace and love in your lives together!

Shoemaker Brothers Music...WOW!

I had a wonderful week last week for many reasons. First of all, I got to see my best friend Melanie, from NYC, for the first time in 2 years. We decided to take a trip up to Napa for a few days which I will write more about later. For now, I want to share an experience we had hearing and meeting some truly amazing musicians. We started off Thursday doing a little wine tasting at Cosentino Winery. That's where we met Mary who works at the Silverado Brewing Company in St. Helena. She mentioned they would be having live music that evening with a terrific band... folk rock/alternative. Melanie and I are huge music fans and always love to go to live shows. So we showed up at the Brewery and sat right in front of the 4 talented brothers. We found out that these young guys from Shelton, Washington were on tour along the coast, playing their music and camping along the way. We chatted with them for a bit and asked if they would mind if I photographed them while they did their thing. It was a privilege for me to do that and am looking forward to completing the full online gallery for them that I am working on now. In the meantime, here are a few images I captured of them on stage.

I just got home from the most wonderful week with my family on the East Coast. There really are no words to describe what a special time we all had. I have tons of editing to do with the hundreds of pictures I took but I had to put this one up immediately...my amazing father and my beautiful step mother Linda. They just celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary and together they continue to share a love for each other like no other. I am so grateful for you both! Happy Anniversary! I love you!

Hello everyone. I have some wonderful images to share with you that I captured of some of my best friends...Donald, Calina and their beautiful son Cameron. Donald and I go way back. He and I met working at a restaurant together many years ago and became the best of friends. I am grateful for him and the friendship we have shared since then. Just a little side note here, if it weren't for Donald, I never would have run my first and only marathon down in Big Sur. After he finished the race about 30 minutes before I did, he ran back to find me in the crowd and supported me as I crossed the finish line too. Wow...that was almost 10 years ago now. Where has the time gone? I hope you'll all enjoy these images I put together from their family session we did a couple weeks ago. We had a blast! Thanks you guys...love you!

Hi there everyone...well, I seemed to have taken a little break from my blogging. I'm hoping to get back into the groove now. I've had so much fun working on these images from my trip to Denver last month. I went to my sister's for a family reunion, St. Patrick's Day Celebration and my newphew Brendan's birthday. We had a blast. Of course, I have a few shots of my little nephews to share. I also had the opportunity to photograph my beautiful Mother which was such a treat. This one is definitely one of my favorites of her...so peaceful and natural. Thanks for being such a wonderful model Mom.

I decided to play around with some text and textures on the other two images. I really like the way they turned out although I realized that the text is a little tough to read on Sean's picture. He was patiently "waiting for Grandma and Grandpa" who were just about to arrive...I love the look of anticipation on his face. I absolutely love the image I captured of Brendan sucking his thumb, as he often does. There is truly nothing like being an Aunt!! I am so grateful.

My "boys"

So those of you who know me, know how much I love my cats. I can't imagine my life without Ben and Moe, my "boys". They bring me so much joy. Their sweet individual personalities, their unconditional love, their soothing soft purr...they continue to make me smile a little more each day. I had a lovely family session over the weekend with a beautiful family. The goal of the session was to capture the relationships between a grandmother, Sue, and her three grandchildren, Naomi, Timothy and Michael. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the kids were full of great energy...I think we all had a really good time! Thanks to all of you for making my job so much fun.

My new logo

I'm so excited to have finalized my new logo and business cards. It's been so much fun playing around with the design and coming up with something I really love. I can't take full credit though because my good friends Nick Lostracco and Kim Sayre helped out. I got it started and their creative ideas really helped me pull it all together. Most often he is smiling but I just love how his gentle, innocent nature comes through in this image. He is so precious, so loveable and so fun! I was so honored and grateful to be asked and of course, happily accepted. In September 2007, I went to Denver for Brendan Nicholas' Christening. Welcome to my blog ! I'm so excited to finally be able to share more of my work, my experiences and my life with those of you who may be interested.

So if you do not already know this about me, I truly love the city of San Francisco. I also truly love my family who I am extremely close with. I had the opportunity over the holidays to photograph my sister, my best friend Lizzy, at one of my favorite locations, China Beach. She is a Bikram yoga instructor in New York and needed some images for the studio website. What a blast we had on a beautiful day in the city. It was a bit cold but not too bad. (Easy for me to say, I had shoes on and a jacket too.)
